The Lower Cape May boys basketball team will play for its first-ever South Jersey Group II championship Monday after a huge 59-44 win over Barnegat Saturday evening in the Caper gym. Lower Cape May will play Haddonfield for the championship after Haddonfield knocked off top seeded Camden. The Caper Tigers are 21-6 on the season.
Meanwhile, the Wildwood Catholic Crusaders lost at home in a semifinal game to Trenton Catholic, 65-58. Wildwood Catholic was beaten in the second quarter, 16-7, and never recovered. The Crusaders’ season ends with a 26-3 record.
