Governments in Wildwood and Wildwood Crest both moved this week to make cuts from the school budget, based on voters turning away the budgets during school elections. The Wildwood school district will have to cut nearly $320,000 from the budget, after the commission made recommendations on where those cuts could come from. Wildwood Crest commissioners cut only about a quarter of the proposed increase. $75,000 was removed from the budget and given back to the district. In these cases, the governments make a final determination on how much should be cut and will recommend where those cuts should come from. It is ultimately up to the district as to where the cuts are taken from though.
