Freeholder Leonard Desiderio announced that the County has produced the “2010 Boaters’ Guide to Cape May County” which is available on-line.
This document, compiled by the county Planning Department, is a comprehensive guide to boating-related resources and services available in our county, including boat ramps, fuel docks, and waterfront restaurants. Also included this year is the Cape May County Marina Study. This element of the Guide provides comprehensive listing of all marinas in the County, as well as their amenities and contact information. Additionally, latitude and longitude coordinates are provided as a guide to aid the boaters in locating these facilities.
During the spring and early summer of 2010, staff from the Planning Department did site visits and interviewed staff of the marinas to update and obtain information on the facilities and the Information was processed and mapped using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology.
Due to printing costs, the Guide is being offered exclusively as an “online” document. It can be accessed through our website, capemaycountygov.net, either on the home page or via the Planning Department’s page.
Freeholder Desiderio said, “This document is a very useful tool for the boating community. Both our residents and visitors will benefit from this updated guide to boating in Cape May County.”
