BILL SENT TO NJ TRANSIT FOR ARC TUNNEL FUNDS

The federal government wants its money back. A letter was sent to New Jersey Transit to repay all of the funds that the state spent for the ARC Tunnel project that belonged to the federal government. It is estimated at $271 million right now. An audit will be done to see what has been spent and what hasn’t been spent. Gov. Chris Christie decided to cancel the tunnel project when he said the cost overruns would be too much for the state to handle.
