A proposed bill would dedicated UEZ sales tax revenue back into the district. The measure will be heard on Monday and would ensure 30 percent of all UEZ sales tax revenues go back into the respective UEZ zone. Meanwhile, 70 percent would go into the general fund. Gov. Chris Christie had taken the revenue during the worst of the financial times in the state to help balance the budget. The measure would ensure beginning with the new budget year in July that some of the UEZ money would stay in the district it is spent in.
