On Sunday a local military officer began performing his duties in Washington, D.C. during this inauguration weekend. Major General Michael S. Linnington, joined President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden for a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery. Linnington, a native of Cape May County, is the commanding general of the Military District of Washington, D.C., and will oversee military operations at Monday’s presidential inauguration ceremonies, parades and special events.
