BIG CRASH: COMPUTER GLITCH FREEZES MOTOR VEHICLE SYSTEM

Friday was not a good day for the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission.  All 39 offices around the state were paralyzed before the weekend due to a computer glitch that made many transactions impossible throughout the day.  The computer system was brought down for routine maintenance and failed to restart.  State officials admit the system is three decades old.
