A proposal floated by a local lawmaker would require that GPS units be placed on some of the state-owned vehicles in New Jersey. State Senator Jeff Van Drew and a republican lawmaker from North Jersey are sponsoring a bill that would place the GPS tracking units on some of the cars in the 9,000 vehicle state fleet to make sure they are being used for official business. Van Drew says there have been numerous reports of state owned vehicles being used for private matters.
