This Tuesday morning at 10 a.m., bids will be unsealed for the vending of ice cream on the Wildwood beach. Last year 15 licenses were available for beach vending at $3,000 each, and the city generated $30,000 in revenue. This year the minimum bid for the vending license is $300,000 for three years. Wildwood Commissioner Pete Byron told Coastal Broadcasting that the city followed the model of Wildwood Crest, which he says recently received a bid of about $650,000 for ice cream vending on their beach.
