BEAR-RESISTANT TRASH CANS COMING TO NEW JERSEY?

Some lawmakers in Trenton think it’s a good idea to hand out fines to people who do not bear-proof their trash where bears are known to frequent.  A Senate committee voted Thursday in favor of a bill that would require bear resistant trash cans be used in areas of New Jersey where bears visit.  Violators could face fines as high as $1,000.
