The beach fill between Ocean City and Sea Isle City will be done again. The U.S. Army Corps Engineers’ announced that it has redone a contract with Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company to do beach restoration in Ocean City, Sea Isle City, and Strathmere. While a beach fill was done earlier this year, a major storm hit this fall and severely eroded the beaches. The additional cost of $15.8 million will be paid for entirely by the federal government and will put over 1 million cubic yards of sand on the three beaches combined. The work is expected to be completed by April 2016. They will use sand from Corson’s Inlet borrow area.
