The Ocean City Gazette reports that bathers were pulled out the water four times on Thursday at North Street, according to beachgoers. The report said officials could not confirm why the lifeguards cleared the water, but speculated that it could have been anything including debris, a large fish, a shark or even a man-of-war jellyfish. Local shark sightings have been in the news this week, as the water warms up and the bait fish swim closer to the shoreline. This morning’s ocean water temperature in Ocean City was 77 degrees.
