AVALON UNVEILS SECOND MAJOR DREDGING PROJECT

Avalon officials held a press conference right before the weekend to discuss a second major back bay dredging project.  The United States Army Corps of Engineers is conducting a thin-layer disposal project on state marshes located west of Avalon near 61st Street.  This project will dredge 50,000 cubic yards of material; Avalon is conducting another bigger project that will move 150,000 cubic yards of dredge materials into a contained disposal facility.
