AVALON TO GET NEW SAND ON THE BEACH THIS WEEK

Avalon’s beach fill project begins this week.  Avalon Business Administrator Scott Wahl told us that the dredge “Illinois” will soon be in Townsend’s Inlet, and it will pump sand on the Borough’s 8th Street beach beginning on Thursday or Friday.  Avalon will place 700,000 cubic yards of sand on the beach from 8th Street south to 26th street over the next three to four weeks.
