AVALON RECEIVES MAJOR AWARD FOR PET EVACUATION TRAILER

Avalon has received a prestigious award for an emergency management initiative it enacted last year.  The Borough has received a 2013 Innovation in Governance Award from the New Jersey League of Municipalities for its pet evacuation trailer.  The trailer was constructed in advance of Hurricane Sandy as a way for pet owners and their pets to safely evacuate during a major storm event.  The award will be presented to Avalon next month in Atlantic City.
