The Avalon Police Department has arrested an Atlantic County man in relation to a reported theft from an Avalon residence. In July 2015, the victim contacted police to report the theft of jewelry, valued in excess of $10,000. During the time the jewelry went missing, the victim stated plumbing repairs were being conducted which led police to charge an employee of the contractor with theft. The employee, Charles Healy 3rd, age 28, of Somers Point, turned himself into police upon learning of the charges. Healy was Theft of moveable Property and was released on his own recognizance pending an August 24th Court date. The investigating officer was Detective Sergeant Joseph Gaughan.
