AVALON OFFICIALS HOST MEETING WITH VERIZON ABOUT PHONE OUTAGE

Avalon Mayor Martin Pagliughi and other Borough officials will be hosting a sit down with Verizon officials regarding a massive land line phone outage that affected the Seven Mile beach for about a week.  Residential and commercial Verizon customers lost phone service for some unexplained reason for several days last week.  Verizon officials never notified anyone in Avalon about the problem, and there have been numerous complaints about customer service during the outage.  Stone Harbor officials will join Avalon at the meeting Monday afternoon, along with Cape May County Emergency Management Director Frank McCall.
