AVALON ISSUES NOTICE TO PROCEED FOR HUGE BEACH FILL

Avalon officials have issued a Notice to Proceed in advance of a huge beach fill project.  Borough officials say the notice was provided to Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company who will pump up to 700,000 cubic yards of sand on north end beaches between 8th Street and 26th Street this spring.  By contract, the beach fill project must be wrapped up on or before June 29th.  A pre construction meeting is being held next week.
