AVALON HIRES NEW MUNICIPAL CLERK

The Avalon Borough Council voted unanimously on a resolution to name Marie J. Hood as Municipal Clerk in Avalon during a special meeting held on Thursday.  Council voted 4-0 to promote Hood to the position; it is a three-year term.  For the past six months, she served the Borough as the Assistant to the Municipal Clerk.  Prior to holding that position, Hood served Avalon as Deputy Municipal Clerk and also as an assistant to Avalon Chief Financial Officer Jim Craft.  Hood has worked for the Borough since 1992.Hood replaces Georgann Berardis in the position of Municipal Clerk.  Denise Rech continues in her position as Deputy Municipal Clerk for the Borough.
