The Bay-Atlantic Symphony, the Borough of Avalon, and the Avalon Free Public Library have signed the contracts to bring Symphony By The Sea to Avalon for its fifth season. Jed Gaylin, Music Director for the symphony, met with Avalon Library board president, Jacquie Ewing and Avalon Mayor, Marty Pagliughi, to finalize details for the summer season.
The orchestra will be performing the first of two concerts, Over Here, Over There, on Saturday, July 16 at 7 p.m. with selections by Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, and Antonin Dvorak. The Saturday, August 27 performance, Sun, Splash, and Waves, will feature music by Felix Mendelssohn with guest violinist, Kai Gleustein performing Violin Concerto in E Minor, opus 64.
Tickets are free of charge and available to the general public at the library two weeks prior to each performance. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
