AVALON DISCUSSES STAFFING AT VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

Avalon’s Borough Council met Wednesday night and discussed a plan to provide small stipends to members of the Avalon Volunteer Fire Department to staff the firehouse during overnight hours.  Avalon Business Administrator Scott Wahl and Fire Chief Ed Dean discussed the need for staffing during the overnight hours to provide adequate response to fire calls.  Council is expected to continue the discussion of this program at a meeting next month.
