Avalon Elementary School children learned about dune grass, and then planted it on Monday. Students were engaged by the Avalon Environmental Commission with the benefits of a healthy dune grass system in dunes and then planted new dune grass stolons on the 32nd Street beach in Avalon. Avalon conducts a dune grass planting event each year to help fortify its dune system.
