AVALON CAPTURES FIRST MAYOR’S CUP BOCCE TOURNAMENT

Avalon captured the first-ever Mayor’s Cup bocce tournament on its home courts on Saturday.  Avalon defeated Stone Harbor in a best of three bocce tournament, 11-5 and 11-6 to take home a traveling Mayor’s Cup trophy that the winner keeps until the competition next fall.  The tournament was played at Avalon’s new 39th Street Park; mayors Martin Pagliughi and Suzanne Walters captained their respective teams.
