The Borough of Avalon will resume its beach fill sometime over the weekend. Avalon’s beach fill project was interrupted at the 11th Street beach when a dredge operated by Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company suffered a major mechanical malfunction. That left a joint beach fill project involving Avalon and Sea Isle City with only one dredge. Sea Isle’s beach fill will wrap up this weekend, and the dredge “Illinois” will shift to Avalon where it will continue a beach fill operation that will continue south to 26th Street. The entire project should be wrapped up before the last weekend in June.
