The Avalon Borough Council met Wednesday night and awarded a contract for a new park. The park will be located on 39th Street and will be largely financed by funding from the Cape May County Open Space Program. Council also discussed the adoption of a flood mitigation progress report and heard a presentation by Business Administrator Scott Wahl on some work being conducted by Avalon in behalf of the Jersey Shore Partnership which promotes the importance of nourishment projects on state beaches.
