AVALON APPROVES MUNICIPAL BUDGET WITH SIGNIFICANT TAX DECREASE

The Avalon Borough Council met Wednesday afternoon and approved a new municipal budget that includes a significant decrease in its municipal tax rate.  The new rate for Avalon is 19.9 cents per $100 of assessed valuation.  Avalon maintains a AAA bond rating from Standard and Poor’s and may have the lowest combined tax rate in the entire state.
