The ceremony begins at 11:00am and will include comments by Mayor Pagliughi and by Kevin Coyle, commander of American Legion Post #331. The “Seven Mile Singers” will sing the “Star Spangled Banner” and “God Bless America”. There will be a presentation of wreaths by the Avalon Elementary School and by local veteran Ed White. Veterans will also present a rifle salute, along with the playing of taps.
At 12 Noon, American Legion Post #331 will hold a ceremony at the post, located at the northwest corner of 117th Street and Second Avenue in Stone Harbor. Following the ceremony, veterans will offer refreshments including hot dogs and soup.
