Avalon Mayor Martin Pagliughi and the Avalon Department of Public Works have announced a debris collection policy in the Borough following the departure of Hurricane Sandy. Avalon is exercising a no-cost contract with Phillips & Jordan to provide immediate large debris collection in the community.
This bulk trash debris will come at no cost to the Borough of Avalon and will be paid with funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Phillips & Jordan is using sub-contractors to collect the large debris that was left on private property during the recent Hurricane Sandy storm event. Every vehicle that is being used for the collection will have a special Phillips & Jordan sign posted, with an official truck number for Avalon cleanup.
Avalon property owners are urged immediately to bring this large debris from their properties for curbside collection. This debris should not be placed in the street; it should be placed between the sidewalk and the curb for immediate collection.
