This week a 27 year-old Lower Township man was indicted by a grand jury on multiple charges, including attempted murder. Joseph Moncrief is accused of assaulting 49 year-old Christian Buscham on May 27 by beating him with a rock. Buscham allegedly bludgeoned Moncrief until he was left helpless and had to be hospitalized. The assault occurred on West Rio Grande Boulevard in the Shawcrest section of Lower Township. No motive was given for the attack. Moncrief is currently in the Cape May County Jail on $150,000 bail.
