Who says that North Jersey gets everything? A new study shows that wealthy North Jersey counties put out more in tax dollars and got less back in state aid, while less wealthy counties got more back. The Rutgers University study shows that Cumberland County got 3.7 percent of the total state aid, but only put out one percent of all of the income and sales tax in the state. Atlantic County also did well, getting 3.4 percent versus the 2.6 percent they paid. Cape May County got back what they put out. The one percent of all of the taxes that the county paid out was taken back in state aid.
