Officials in Atlantic County are filing an appeal with the Federal Emergency Management Agency on their decision to refuse aid to South Jersey homeowners affected by the June 30th storm that caused millions of dollars in damage and severe power outages. Atlantic County Emergency Management Director Vince Jones said on Thursday he will file an appeal with FEMA. The agency decided not to provide aid to homeowners, but will fund public agencies in Atlantic, Cumberland and Salem Countues to offset the costs of police, fire and public works associated with the storm.
