No Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on the Atlantic City Boardwalk again, but don’t blame the pandemic. The Atlantic City St. Patrick’s Day Committee does not plan to apply for the permits because they are not satisfied with the conditions on the boardwalk. Organizers for the event told NJ Advance Media that they are concerned over “soft spots” and poor maintenance on the walk . Additionally, Friday’s fire at New Jersey Avenue leaves a section of the boardwalk on the parade route in need of repair. Last year the city proposed the event could march the first half of the boardwalk then proceed to Albany Avenue via city streets. The committee rejected the idea due to challenges and additional costs to march that route. This will be the fourth year in a row the parade will not happen.
