ATLANTIC CITY POLICE OFFICER INJURED IN ATV CRASH

On Sunday night a 51 year-old Atlantic City police sergeant suffered a leg injury when his ATV crashed on the way to a call. Michael Mayer was patrolling the beach on an ATV when he was called for back-up to the Scores bar at Trump Taj Mahal at about 7:43 p.m. to assist with an unruly employee. Mayer crashed on his way to the scene, causing a non life-threatening leg injury that required surgery. Police arrested 48 year-old Jonathan James of Sicklerville for aggravated assault on police and resisting arrest.
