Atlantic City residents may have to swallow a gigantic 47 percent tax increase in 2014. New city Mayor Don Guardian delivered the sobering news as he discussed the new city budget on Wednesday. The new municipal budget in Atlantic City includes a huge 65-cent increase in the local purpose tax rate. Most of the increase is tied to decreased property values.
