Atlantic City is publicly talking about laying off city workers. City officials are going to ask the State for permission to lay off some city employees as it attempts to balance a budget and reduce expenses. Many union contracts may be re-opened by Atlantic City as it attempts to find ways to eliminate some employees. A layoff plan could be filed with the state as early as next week.
