ATLANTIC CITY COUNCIL GIVES APPROVAL FOR TAX HIKE

A huge tax hike is coming for residents in Atlantic City. Council there approved a nine cent increase to the local purpose tax, according to a report by the Press of Atlantic City. The overall budget is down $12 million, but still taxes are on the way up. The overall spending plan is coming in at $232 million. The vote on the budget was unanimous. A number of tax appeals remain out there in the city with a number of the major casino/resorts.
