Gambling revenues continue to take a beating as all casinos in Atlantic City remain closed. Power has returned to the casinos, but many in the city are still without electricity and the evacuation order has not yet been lifted. Governor Christie says that the power issue is one of two hurdles to overcome before the casinos will be permitted to open. The other hurdle is the water quality issue. The boil water advisory was lifted on Thursday but the governor needs to verify that ice machines, hot water heaters and other appliances are safe before the casinos can re-open.
