Good news from the Atlantic City casinos on Monday. The N.J. Division of Gaming Enforcement reported that operating profits were up by more than 31 percent for the first quarter of this year, for an increase of $25 million over 2015. Combined sales of independent restaurants, bars and stores within the casino properties saw their revenues increase by 2.8 percent during the first quarter. The numbers are a measurement of the casinos earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and related charges.
