A press conference was held on Thursday to urge lawmakers to move forward on Gov. Chris Christie’s Cap 2.5. Assembly Republicans held the press conference urging Democrats to move the bill. This measure would have to be passed before the end of the legislative session at the end of the month to end up on the ballot in November. Christie is proposing a constitutional change that will cap property tax increases at 2.5 percent. Democrats control both houses. The 1st legislative team, which is all Democrats, support the bill as well.
