ASSEMBLY PASSES $34.8 BILLION BUDGET, ON TO THE GOVERNOR

On Monday night the New Jersey Assembly passed the Democrats’ $34.8 billion budget 50-27 and sent the plan on it’s way to the governor. The budget passed along party lines, after the legislature tweaked Christie’s budget proposal by adding $275 million in spending for anti-poverty initiatives. The new budget includes no raise in taxes, as the proposed gasoline tax increase is a separate issue that has yet to be resolved.
