ASSEMBLY BUDGET COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER PAID SICK TIME

Legislation will go before the Assembly budget committee that would require all employers to provide paid sick time. The employee would accrue one hour of earned sick leave for every 30 hours worked. The clock would start kicking in 90 days from the employee hire date. The time could be used for personal sickness or to care for a family member who is ill. The business community is greatly against this measure becoming law.
