Local residents can feel a bit safer now that NJ State Police have made two arrests in a car theft operation that lasted about six months. Two men from Upper Township were arrested and charged with various theft and weapons offenses, in conjunction with the burglaries of more than 1,000 cars in Upper, Dennis and Middle Townships. Arrested and charged were 23 year-old Christopher Mander and 25 year-old Vincent Laracombe, who are both in the Cape May County Jail on $100,000 bail. The two men allegedly stole merchandise from homes and cars such as GPS units, iPods, wallets and watches.
