ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT TAKEN INTO CUSTODY BY POLICE

An investigation into armed robberies in Absecon led to the arrest of a man for an incident that took place at the Red Roof Inn. On June 17th, the suspect, now identified as Emanuel T. Heath, entered the Red Roof Inn at 405 Absecon Blvd. wearing a face mask and socks on his hands and armed with a .45 Cal. handgun. He robbed the desk clerk of approximately $400 in cash before fleeing in a vehicle East on Rt. 30. The suspect was charged by Detective C. Leigh Gadd, Jr. with 1st degree armed robbery, as well as theft. Bail was set at $100,000 cash. The investigation continues, and additional charges are pending. The suspect is currently lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility in Mays Landing.
