Authorities in Middle Township are on the lookout for a man who robbed a grocery store in Rio Grande Monday night. According to police, a man with a handgun entered Morelo’s Grocery in the Village Shoppes at 8:41 p.m., reached into the cash register and grabbed money. Employees of the store fought back but the man fled on foot. A sweep of the area was conducted by the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit without success. The suspect was last seen wearing dark pants and a grey hooded sweatshirt with an image of the Liberty Bell on the back.
