A new report says a law change could lead to the Chelsea Hotel opening up a boutique casino. The owner of the hotel, Curtis Bashaw, told the AP that a proposed change in the law would all his hotel to open up a small casino floor. Lawmakers advanced a measure that would put the minimum limit at 200 hotel rooms; the law currently states a hotel must have 500 rooms. By lowering the limit the Chelsea could be issued a gaming license. The article says the floor would only be able to accommodate a few hundred people and would have an “exclusive feel.”
