ANOTHER MILESTONE REACHED IN LOCAL GIRLS BASKETBALL

We now have another career 1,000 point scorer in girls basketball in Cape May County. On Thursday night Wildwood’s Leishly Reyes scored a career high 38 points as the Lady Warriors beat Schalick 76-40. Reyes scored 23 points before halftime and became the eighth girls basketball player in Wildwood High history to reach 1,000 points, and the first Hispanic to reach that number. Her record-breaking basket was a spinning layup from the left block. The Wildwood girls team will next be in action on Tuesday night at home in the first round of the NJSIAA playoffs.
