Atlantic County has established an Animal Response Hotline to assist residents in rescuing pets left behind during Hurricane Sandy and reuniting them with their owners. Residents may call (609) 909-7829 and leave their name, hometown, the number and type of pet(s), and a current contact number. Calls will be returned in the order they are received. Trained volunteers will coordinate efforts to reunite pets with their owners. These volunteers previously provided this service to victims of Hurricane Katrina and found it to be a much needed and valuable service.
