ANGER IN SURF CITY: BEACH FILL DELAYED, AGAIN

As Stone Harbor’s beach fill project continues, there’s anger and disgust in Surf City.  City officials learned before the weekend that the project to put sand on the beach in that community has been delayed again.  The project has been delayed several times and was supposed to start on Tuesday.  However, there’s another delay and no firm start date.  The company that’s been hired to do the work in behalf of the United States Army Corps of Engineers is not the same company that is doing the work in Stone Harbor and Avalon.  Surf City Mayor Len Conners says the project will hurt the tourism season.
