Assemblyman Sgt. Bob Andrzejczak has been named “New Jersey Legislator of the Year” by the American Veterans (AMVETS) in recognition of his support for service members, veterans and military families as a member of the General Assembly. Andrzejczak, a U.S. Army veteran who was wounded in Iraq, received an honorary plaque from AMVETS during a ceremony in May. As the first World War II organization to be chartered by Congress, AMVETS has a history of serving veterans that spans nearly seven decades. Membership in the organization is open to anyone who currently is serving or who has honorably served in the armed forces, including the National Guard and Reserves, from World War II to the present.
