State residents might not be for it, but state lawmakers believe it needs to be done. A recent poll showed that 60 percent of the state does not support giving a fat tax break to Revel Casino for three-fourths of its room and sales tax over its first 20 years. Assemblyman Nelson Albano is among the lawmakers to push legislation that would keep a referendum out of the voters hands for this project, because it used federal stimulus dollars. The bill is in front of Gov. Chris Christie who has not said whether or not he will sign it.
